Titus 1

Main Highlights

Paul instructs Titus on the qualifications for elders and the need to rebuke false teachers in Crete.

Key Verses

For this reason I left you in Crete, that you would set in order what remains and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you, namely, if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or insubordination. For an overseer must be blameless as God’s steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain, for there are many rebellious people, idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching for sordid gain things which they should not teach.
