Theological Analysis

What we learn about God

God is portrayed as holding people accountable for their actions. "When I say to the wicked, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require from your hand." (Ezekiel 3:18)

Christological Connection

Jesus also took on the responsibility of warning people.

Systematic Theology

Human responsibility to both the Law and one another.

Law & Grace

The verses show law through the punishment if warnings are not heeded, and grace through the ability of the wicked to live if they are warned.

Personal Application

We should be diligent in studying and sharing God's word, being mindful of the responsibility we have to warn others and live righteously ourselves. "When I say to the wicked, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require from your hand." (Ezekiel 3:18)
